➤ Layout

The Layout menu is used to manage the arrangement of Elysium modules on the desktop. It provides a visual representation of the available slots and allows you to organize which module is assigned to each position without manually editing the layout configuration.

Layout
Elysium Manager Layout Menu

Elysium provides eight available layout slots. Each slot represents a specific position within the Elysium desktop and can contain an assigned module.

The layout shown in the screenshot is only an example configuration. It displays the slots that are currently occupied by modules; empty slots are not shown with a module assigned to them.

Layout Grid

The center section displays the current arrangement of the layout. Each occupied slot shows its position identifier and the module currently assigned to it.

The slot sizes and positions form the structure of the Elysium desktop. Different slot sizes allow modules with different layouts and purposes to fit naturally within the grid.

In the example above, the currently occupied slots contain the following modules:

  • A1 — TIME
  • B1 — WTHR
  • B2 — CALD
  • C1 — SYST
  • D1 — DISK
  • D2 — NETW

This example uses six of the eight available slots, leaving the remaining slots available for additional modules.

Clicking an occupied slot selects it and displays additional information about the assigned module on the right side of the page.

Selected Slot

The Selected Slot section provides information about the currently selected layout slot. It displays the slot identifier, the module assigned to it, its version, author, and a short description of the module.

For example, selecting slot A1 displays the module identifier TIME_2x1_A01, followed by its version and author information. The description provides additional information about the purpose and presentation of the selected module.

This makes it possible to identify the module occupying a particular position before making changes to the layout.

Change

The Change button allows you to change the module assigned to the currently selected slot.

This is useful when you want to keep the position of a slot but replace the module displayed in that position with another available module.

Move

The Move button is used to move the selected module to another available position in the layout.

This allows you to reorganize the arrangement of your desktop while keeping the selected module itself.

Swap

The Swap button allows two layout positions to exchange their assigned modules. This is useful when you want to quickly exchange the positions of two modules without changing the modules themselves.

Remove

The Remove button removes the module assigned to the currently selected slot. This allows the slot to remain available without a module occupying it.

Reset Layout

The Reset Layout button removes all modules from all layout slots. It provides a quick way to completely clear the current Elysium layout.

Unlike the other layout actions, Reset Layout does not restore a predefined module arrangement. Instead, it clears the entire layout so that modules can be assigned again from an empty state.

Managing Your Layout

A typical layout workflow begins by selecting an occupied slot. Once selected, the Manager displays the module information associated with that position and provides the available layout actions.

You can use Change to assign a different module, Move to reposition the selected module, Swap to exchange positions with another module, or Remove to clear the selected slot.

Because Elysium provides eight available slots, you can build a layout with only the modules you need and leave the remaining slots empty. The visual grid makes it easier to understand the arrangement of your desktop and manage the placement of each module.

If you want to start with a completely empty layout, use Reset Layout. This removes all module assignments from the available slots, allowing you to build a new arrangement from scratch.

➤ Colorscheme

The Colorscheme menu allows you to choose the visual color palette used throughout Elysium. Palette changes are applied instantly, allowing you to preview different appearances without restarting Elysium.

Colorscheme
Elysium Manager Colorscheme Menu

Available Palettes

The main section displays the palettes currently available in Elysium. Each palette is represented by a preview of its colors, along with its name and a short description.

The available palettes shown in the Manager include:

  • Catppuccin — A soothing pastel palette inspired by the Catppuccin theme.
  • Dracula — A dark palette inspired by the Dracula theme, including a light variant.
  • Elysium — The default color palette for Elysium.
  • Gruvbox — A retro groove palette featuring warm, earthy tones and comfortable contrast.
  • Nord — An Arctic-inspired palette based on the Nord color theme.

Color Preview

Each palette card includes a visual color preview showing the main colors used by the palette. This makes it easier to compare palettes before selecting one.

The currently active palette is highlighted, making it immediately visible which colorscheme is currently being used by Elysium.

Browse Palettes

The Browse Palettes button provides access to additional palette options. This allows the available color schemes to be expanded beyond the palettes currently displayed in the Manager.

As the Elysium ecosystem grows, additional palettes can be made available without requiring the core Elysium installation to include every palette by default.

Applying a Palette

To change the appearance of Elysium, simply select the palette you want to use. The selected palette is applied immediately and becomes the active colorscheme for the Elysium environment.

This makes it easy to experiment with different visual styles and switch between palettes whenever you want without manually editing the Elysium configuration.

➤ Scale

The Scale menu allows you to choose a scaling profile optimized for your display resolution. Changes are applied instantly, making it easy to adjust the size of Elysium without manually editing configuration files.

Scale
Elysium Manager Scale Menu

Auto Detect

Auto Detect (Recommended) automatically determines the appropriate scale based on your screen height. This is the recommended option for most users because Elysium can adjust its scaling to match the display automatically.

Scaling Profiles

Elysium also provides several predefined scaling profiles for common display resolutions:

  • 1366 × 768 — Baseline resolution and recommended for 1366×768 displays.
  • 1600 × 900 — Provides slightly larger UI scaling and is suitable for 1600×900 displays.
  • 1920 × 1080 — Provides comfortable scaling for Full HD displays.
  • 2560 × 1440 — Provides larger scaling for high-resolution displays.

The currently selected profile is highlighted, making it easy to identify which scaling configuration is active.

For the best result, use Auto Detect unless you prefer to manually select a specific scaling profile.

Automatic Location

Automatic Location uses the available location detection service to determine your current coordinates automatically.

When automatic detection is disabled, you can enter your latitude and longitude manually for greater control over the location used by Elysium.

Manual Coordinates

The Latitude and Longitude fields allow you to specify your location manually. These coordinates are used by Elysium for location-dependent features.

  • Latitude — Specifies the north–south position.
  • Longitude — Specifies the east–west position.

Manual coordinates are recommended when automatic location detection does not provide sufficiently accurate results.

Your Location

The Your Location section displays the location information currently recognized by Elysium, including:

  • Latitude
  • Longitude
  • City
  • Region
  • Country
  • Country Code
  • Timezone
